Who We Are

Barbara Applegate, MSW, ACSW, C-ASWCM is CEO/Owner of A.G.E. Consultants, Inc. Barbara has over 30 years experience working with adult children and their aging parents in the fields of geriatrics, health care and mental health. Barbara holds a masters degrees in social work and post masters certification in gerontology. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, the National Council on Aging and the National Association of Social Workers. Barbara is a past member of the Board of Directors of the National Council on Aging and the Board of the Western Region Chapter of Geriatric Care Managers. Barbara is the co-author of Parent Care: A Survival Guide for Adult Children of Aging Parents.

In recognition of how stressful it can be for a family to provide loving care and assistance to an aging parent or relative Barbara Applegate along with the now retired co founder, Jean Thorne developed A.G.E. Consultants to offer the breadth and depth of their expertise and support to families and their aged parent.
